The Förderverein Seifersdorfer Schloss e. V. applied to the Freundeskreis Schlösserland Sachsen with its project proposal. This association supports palaces in state, municipal and private ownership and has links to many local support associations.
The proposal from Seifersdorf of creating a commemorative plaque for Count Heinrich von Brühl came a close second in the vote for a new fundraising project, but was not successful. However, the association was soon able to find a donor willing to pay for the design and casting of the bronze plaque, and so the project was implemented. The Förderverein Seifersdorfer Schloss e. V. provided its own funds for an internet presence, and was awarded additional funding from the district of Bautzen.
